I'm not on any particular kind of diet though. I'm eating healthier things, less of them, and not drinking. Shit, my lack of caloric intake from booze alone should've netted me a 10lb loss. Frustrating.

Granted, I haven't been running 10 miles a day or anything...
I think the point is that you should be eating more, it kick starts your metabolism to burn calories that you've otherwise trained it to store for later.

Lots of small snacks are better than a few big meals.

Firstly, no.

Secondly, eating more is what got me here.

I think the only way to really know is measure and track everything that you eat. That's the only way you can tell if you are taking in less calories than you were before.

I'm really good at gaining weight. I'll just have to wait until fat becomes the new black.

Well I just finished the third workout of week two on c25k after a restart. Did a little better, the shins are still a little sore but I have been trying really hard to run with less impact and it's helping. The week three plan will be the real test though. There are less running portions but they are longer, so my form is going to be much more important. Bring it on I guess...

I didn't go running today and I filled up on pasta and wine tonight. 8 miles tomorrow morning is calling my name...if I can manage to waddle out the door.

http://www.fitday.com = great calorie counter.

I'm -2 so far.

Saw a picture of the new Tubbydog special. Hotdog with poutine on it. I think I cried a little. It was amazing how hungry I was after seeing that pic, even though I had already eaten.

254.3 today, down from 278 three months ago, and a net loss of 3 pounds in the last week. Hit a bit of brick wall on loss lately, but I'm stepping up the jiu jitsu to try to compete.

It's a spring training thread, not specifically a weight loss thread. It just happens to be a coincidence that over half of us have weight loss goals.
All are welcome.
In that case: I'm tuning up my golf game to hit a zero or + handicap and join a mini-tour. My goal is to be there by Memorial Day.

I'm only on week three, and know exactly what you mean. Which reminds me I have to go down and finish day 2 tonight.

i've been at my desk job for 10 years, and have exercised almost zero in that time. meanwhile, i've been feeding myself junk food, fast food, crap food at least one meal and usually two meals a day, almost every day.

i'm a heart attack looking for a place to happen. it's way beyond time to do something. especially since i fully intend to dance with my daughter (now age 3) at her wedding.

I have lived the exact same for a long time myself, many years. I finally had to cut myself off of fast food totally it got so bad, and that was over a year ago now. I hadn't exercised at all in all that time either, and I have no idea why I don't weigh 350 pounds with a heart ready to give up. But, I was able to get through week 3 day 1, in Denver at 5000' elevation just fine. It is a noticible bump up from week 2, but I can see that this program is working nice and gradually. I'm having to really learn how to run to do it, and not hurt my joints and shins, but I'm doing it. It takes effort to get down there and do the workouts, but even that is slowly becoming part of my routine. I think that when we're finally ready, and hit rock-bottom being sick of being out of shape, then the motivation finds us. Keep it up!

What? Do you think I'm an idiot or something? Seriously Lou, this is serious issue I'm pretty sensitive about and I don't appreciate you making jokes.

... Pfft, like rum isn't a snack. I'm not that damn gullible.

As a side note, Dannon light&fit pineapple coconut is DELICIOUS. Is that acceptable for you pigster, or does this have too much sugar and blah blah blah in it too?!

Good for you guys! I was at a wedding in the Boundary Waters this weekend and I think I drank my weight in booze. We'll see what happens at weigh in this week

I wish I liked greek yogurt since it's a lot healthier than the stuff I've been eating, but gah I just can't take the taste.

Dude, the stuff with the fruit or chocolate in it is goooooodddd....the vanilla not so much.

I use the plain on tacos in place of sour cream though. Pretty good substitute.

Ran 4 times last week and did two workouts on the Kinect personal trainer. Hopefully I can keep this up. Plan on running again tonight.

I've tried em all. Blech. There's even a greekish place near me who has in-house yogurt and I didn't like it.

Off the topic of food though, I just found out the walkway behind our building is actually a 2.5 mile trail. I think I'm going to start running it after work. I'm also signing up for an adult soccer skills class and will be joining a league after.

I think I'm going to find a way to do my own liposuction at home. How hard could it be? I have a shop vac, I just sterilize a turkey baster, make a shallow incision in the gut pouch and suck out the unwanted fat. Problem solved.
