Old Mariners? Looks like Beuhner and Unit. I don't recognize the others.

Edit: Is that Junior in the middle and then Edgar Martinez next to him?

Yup. Dan Wilson, Buhner, Johnson, Jr., Edgar, Alvin Davis. All the players in the Mariner HoF together for Jr's induction.

Wilson and Davis never played together but the others played with both, and were all on the team during the period I was massively into baseball, wanted to play in the MLB, went to games in the Kingdome all the time, etc.

Hey Stevegasm... I was there.

The ceremony was awesome. He had a great speech that didn't seem rehearsed at all. Funny guy, and down to Earth.

Yeah I watched most of it, didn't realize he and Jay were such buds. He was my dads favorite player, we chased him down in his SUV after a game once because we'd caught his foul ball and wanted to get it signed (which we got). I thought the blurb from Ichiro was pretty cool.

It was a cool ceremony, which had Griff standing about 10' in front of home plate. Ironically, that was the closest any Mariner came to touching the plate that night. 10-0 Brewers, with only four Seattle hits.

I didn't realize they broadcasted the ceremony. Not pictured in your photo are his parents and two of his kids.

Not sure if the full ceremony is online, but I watched most of Griffeys speech. It was posted on either the MLB or mariner website (I linked it from FB).

I'd watch out for the Dodgers. But. They may have peaked too soon. I remember a few years ago the Phils just couldn't lose in July and August. By the playoffs they were toast.

64 MLB players (nine Yankees!) make more than the whole Astros team.

Jason Bay, who isn't even playing, makes more than the Astros.

Celest Ibarra, says she can tell the city’s fervor for the Astros is dwindling by the amount of people coming into her bar.

“With undesirable teams, it’s been pretty excruciatingly slow, I’ll be honest,” Ibarra said. “Unless they’re playing an exciting team like the Red Sox or Cubs—everyone gets really juiced for that—but when it’s just a so-so team like the Seattle Mariners, nobody really comes.”

Well fuck you too
