Yeah, scoring two runs an inning takes up a lot of time.

Hey KK,

Let's do a bet - if the Braves win the series, You'll use my Avatar until they are eliminated, If the Dodgers win, I'll do it. Makes sense? How 'bout it?

That would make sense if I weren't a Tigers fan first and foremost.

I'll extend that bet to STS too. He seems to like the Dreggers.

STS is the one originally from LA. The Dodgers are my 3rd team for fandom.

So how 'bout that 11-1 win Atlanta had last night against Kershaw? I can't believe the Dodgers would have kept him in past the 2nd inning. Oh, wait. That didn't happen.

So if the Dodgers win it all, are you going to have your avatar changed until next year?

Ya, and if the braves win it all STS has to do the same - until the team is dethroned or eliminated.

Dusty Baker was canned today. As a Giants fan, I'll never really hate on him, but he was the manager of at least several postseason collapses...

The GM wanted the hitting instructor fired. Dusty felt he wasn't the issue and stated to fire him (Baker) if anyone was going to get fired. That's essentially what happened.

And he is at least partially responsible for destroying Kerry Wood and Mark Prior...He's a dinosaur (OBP is meaningless because extra baserunners just "clog the bases" ) that I wouldn't want anywhere near my team's young arms (and the Reds have Cingrani, Latos, Leake, Chapman, and Bailey).

15 rows behind the Tigers dugout was a fine place to watch Scherzer (and the other Tigers pitchers) carve up the As last night - 11Ks through 7, 16 for the game.

As fans are great, they love their team and they love the game - the Coliseum is a shit hole (literally, the past few weeks), but it's a great atmosphere to watch a game.

Tonight's game was a bummer, but Verlander pitching 7 shutout innings (with 11Ks himself) bodes well for the Tigers' overall chances in the playoffs. The As now have to beat the AL ERA champ and the #4 guy, who was 14-9 and was 9th in the league in K:BB ratio for the year and had a 3.17 era over the second half of the season. They're a dangerous team, but I like Detroit's chances.

On a tangential note, these are the stats over the past four years for two pitchers, both are 29 years old and both are in the first year of a six-year contract:

3.56 ERA, 111 ERA+, 781.2 IP, 730K, 1.192 WHIP, 8.4 K/9, 3.65 K/BB, SO% 22.7%, HR% 2.1%, Opp. OPS .679
3.42 ERA, 120 ERA+, 769.0 IP, 728K, 1.263 WHIP, 8.5 K/9, 3.08 K/BB, SO% 22.5%, HR% 1.8%, Opp. OPS .682

One of those guys made $19m this year and is widely considered "an ace", the other made $8.8m and is largely considered "a solid 2 or 3 guy"...Care to guess which one is which? Perception is a magical thing, eh?

A's pitchers have put up 25 goose eggs out of a possible 27.

And their hitters have been enjoying Comerica as of late.
