I've been gassing for a Sadowsky for a while now. I'm curious about the hype.

Something like this.

I had a Sadowsky Metro 4 banger in that same color combo several years ago.

It was a damn nice bass. Prices have gone up substantially since then though....I think I paid about $1200 for mine used.

I've been Gassing for a nice 4 string (probably a Stingray) and even though I don't own a Fender, or really like that much of their stuff, I've wanted one of these for awhile, in this finish:

I've tried one out and it played/sounded great even with a crappy Guitar Center setup.

Since I got my Ibanez BTB776PB setup properly, it's become my main bass. I'm far from great at playing it, but really love doing so. I'm playing it exclusively now with hopes of it becoming an extension of my fingers. So, I'm not in the bass market.

Since I picked up an Aguilar SL112 cabinet late last year, I've been thinking of adding another. I love the cabinet. It's only 25lbs and sounds killer IMO. At our recent gig (coupled with my Mesa Prodigy) it was awesome but I could have used more volume. I'll likely pick one up from Sweetwater because I got a quote that was really good.

Effects? I've been using a pedalboard recently of crap I've collected over the years. Honestly, I think I'm heading back to the Boss GT10B. On the whole, the patches I have sound as good or better than the individual pedals and it's MUCH EASIER to use live.

Need to figure out what speakers I want to run for my two channel setup at the place we're buying. Know what amp I'm using, so the hard part is the speakers.

The MB500 does an admirable job of mimicking the 800rb running clean but the real magic of the 800rb is when you drive it hard and get it into clipping; the famous GK "hitting the rails" grind. The MB500 doesn't do that.

There is a "GK rails in a pedal" thread over on TB where they designed a box that mimics that vibe. I think it's sort of a DIY/shared thing, i.e. you'd have to build it yourself. I do have most of the parts, maybe I will build one and stick it in a 1590 case to see how it works. If it's a credible facsimilie, using it with an MB500 should put you in the right place. I'd build one for you.

Then again, C7 is pretty likely to be correct, so don't sell your 800.
So cool
Can you link me up to that thread?

Home audio?

Do you want loud and clear, and are you using a sub?

Don't need loud, just need quality. Trying to get away without a sub, so probably some sort of tower speaker, though I have a customer coming out with a new 300w sub if need be. Something effective for TV as well as music.

I'll end up running a customer's upcoming integrated amp (2x150w 8r 2x300w 4r)

Crap.
Crap, crap, crap, crap, crap.
I do NOT need a Sweetwater credit card with 3 years no interest.

I just got my catalog today.

According to Jimmy at TB, these sound incredibly like the 70's V4B's. And only weigh 19.4 pounds. Crap. Crap. Crap.

They also have a Portaflex 112 cab now. Crap. Crap. Crap. Crap. Crap.

A pair of those with that head? I don't think I would have any GAS for the Prodigy or Subway anymore. And those cabs are cheaper than LDS cabs. UGH.
Plus, the head can run without a cab attached, so I could run it as a preamp into my PF500 if I needed more power.

After putting a humbucker-sized P90 in a cheap Epiphone, I have gas for a Gibson Les Paul Junior Special. However, my wife has reached critical mass on her patience for me purchasing guitar gear this year.

But it's so pretty ...

It's long and I think the latest schematics are near the end. I read it all the way through (mostly) and it's interesting and cool how they went at it collectively. EDIT: Latest schematic is on page 47.

I may build a few up. I have all the parts and a bunch of 1590 cases around. I think I'd do my own PCB layouts.
