Got s local gig tonight at a craft beer place. They always lay on the beer and pizza for the band which is nice. The guitarist is giving me a ride so I can have more then a couple of beers
I'm looking forward to using my own rig for a change our last two gigs were out of town gigs with supplied back line. The last one was okay but the rig before it was so shit I had a horrible time

Thanks dude. That new fuzz pedal rips and doesn't lose any bottom end. In fact I have to lower the bass on it when I use it, especially with the GNL

Union tube and transistor sub buzz. It's kind of like a cross between a fuzz and a RAT. But it has an insane amount of bottom end to it. I you turn the fuzz down on it you can use it as a clean boost.
It's a really cool pedal that is super hard to find. I really lucked out on getting one and for like $100 less then what they normally go for

There are a few of them in the boutique sheds here in Chicago. I would need to menace them with a pistol to get them, though.

If you make it to the GTG, maybe we can swing up to a couple of the shops on Sunday so you can bereftify your wallet situation...

The Orange rig behind mine is the guitar player's from Mothership, they were the headliner.

Yea he's ok...a bit of a PITA if we're being honest. But he's actually on his way out because he doesn't have the time to play in a band anymore. So the guitar player from the surf band is going to play in this band as well. So both bands will have all the same members.
Dude is a fucking monster player...I mean fucking monster. We've had a few practices with him and we sound better than ever.

I've been really fortunate to find such good players when I moved here.

The video doesn't give a good representation on how many people were there and how many people had out T shirts on....which was super rad. People even wanted pictures and autographs and shit. It was a pretty good feeling. And we actually did have some chicks come out for us...which totally upsets our Fat dudes in Kiss t shirts drinking PBR demographic. I've actually been messaging two of them since yesterday.

I wish he had shot video for the other songs because that one is the one that we did the worst at.

Union has good note definition too. That's been my gripe with fuzz pedals forever... No note definition even when playing with a pick. A few stright distortion/overdrive pedals suffer from this problem too.

Definition and Fuzz are two words that do not go together.

The Sub Fuzz is a kickass pedal and if you get a chance to get one you should. The pups in the GnL really send the thing into overdrive.

All I have so far are names: The Land People or Shade Machine.

Maybe I will make a bandmix. I guess I should learn how to write more than bass parts.

I really wish the current iteration of a "band" would get some shit done and start playing shows. but it's hard as fuck to write enough songs for a set when you can't manage to get together more than every 2 or 3 weeks at best

god I miss being on stage

That's why we made some personnel changes. We have gotten more accomplished in the last month than the 6 before it.

I'm as guilty of not being able to practice as any of the other three. we're getting there, but it's taking longer than I wish it would

on an upside - we managed to turn a Misfits song into an old-school country classic

I was thinking of Buddy when I was sitting at Discount Tire earlier getting a tire fixed. They had country music playing over the PA.

You know, that Buddy Rich fella was onto something ........

Not a fan of country music myself but after seeing his dismissive attitude toward others, I could help but hope he got hit by a train....or a pickup truck....and hoped his dog done run off or his girlfriend slept with his best friend....by a river!

I'm not saying it's bad. I like a lot of old country (the new pop country, not so much) but it's simple as fuck.

When the jazzists came for the country players, I remained silent.
I wasn't a country player............
