Tigers and Red Sox in the AL, Atlanta and the Dodgers in the NL.

They look good, but the Dodgers and Braves look better. They could make a run in the postseason though. Very solid team.

Those are my ALCS and NLCS picks though.

Alrighty, Tigers magic number to two. Now all I need is for the BoSox to end strong, and Oakland to edge the Tigers by one game or so. That way Oakland has home field the ALDS and I can catch one of the games in Oakland.

The perfect setup for me would be Tigers over Oakland in the ALDS with Oakland having home field and then Tigers over Dodgers in the WS, taking it 4-0 or 4-1 so I can catch the clincher in LA.

Braves are in....

Reds/Pirates will be a good series to end the season on in the NL.

The best thing about the Cubs season (as a fan) is that very soon it will be over. There are other reasons that it was more than interesting, though. Some good deals, a good call-up and more talent in the farm that was fun to watch.

Willie Mays in 1954, the year he won the NL MVP Award, eating breakfast in his Harlem walkup. Landlady proudly looking on.

I found that article very uneven. Some of the points he makes (the amphetamine point, for instance) are great, some (the pitcher %) are just very, very bad. As a lover of baseball, statistics, and baseball statistics, I was sad.

The Cards just rapped up home field advantage winning 6 in a row and ending with the best record in the National league.

Looking good.

And the Dodgers will be without Kemp. Ethier will likely be out the first series, too. Things are lining up for the Cards.

Another year, another failure by the Rangers and Reds.

Happy for the Pirates finally getting a postseason win- hopefully they can keep winning. Overall I'm rooting for the smaller markets teams- Pirates, A's, Rays, etc.

Braves should sweep the Dodgers.

Medlin, Jay Hey, and Freeman are all on fire.

I grew up a huge Pirate fan. I almost don't know how to think about them in the playoffs; it has been so long.

Hard to sweep a team with pitchers like Kershaw though. I see that series going 6 or 7 games either way..............

Yeah, most baseball writers 1. Don't live in Atlanta and 2. Recognize that BJ Upton is on the Braves and got 400 at bats this year.
