Rumor has it that Huckleberries will soon be running again.
No one has mentioned the fact that the Huckster is playing one of those Musician's Friend Rogue basses... I think the LX50B that they used to sell for as low as $49. It looks strange juxtaposed against a Tobias and a really nice Warwick.

It just proves that he's a champion of the common man.

+1 This shows he would represent ALL bassists equally, not just cater to the the rich, hoity-toity, table-top, illuminati types with all the money!

I'm thinking that it shows that he might be on the take with GC/MF -- payola via free basses!

...which means that if The Huckster wins, there will be even more Guitar Center stores (and Starbucks) opening in places never thought possible, such as in national parks and wildlife refuges.

He's the Dennis Kucinich of this election cycle. He's there to make Hillary pretend to be a liberal.

How many times do we have to see the same movie?

So, when are we going to have a real talk about getting our senior welfare spending under control? Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid and the various entitlements gobble up about 60% of the total budget. We won't be able to get a handle on our spending problem if we don't address these behemoths.

Fortunately, running on a platform of slashing social security benefits is sure to be a winning strategy.

Of course people actually paid for their social security, congress has skimmed of the top of that fund for decades instead of reinvesting it into SS, and now they are surprised that things aren't adding up. I don't think "entitlement" should be applied to the people in this particular case.

You don't pay for your social security. You pay for the contemporaneous security of others as a public good. What selfish fuck thinks he is paying into social security for his own self-interest?

You do live in fantasy land. Your existence is the stuff that dreams are made of for the average American much like my existence is pure fantasy for the average Mexican, excepting STS, of course.

Clintons charge big fees to small groups
The Clinton Foundation has taken in as much as $11M in payments from non-profit groups.

When Condoleezza Rice headlined a 2009 fundraising luncheon for the Boys and Girls Club of Long Beach, she collected a $60,000 speaking fee, then donated almost all of it back to the club, according to multiple sources familiar with the club’s finances.
Hillary Clinton was not so generous to the small charity, which provides after-school programs to underprivileged children across the Southern California city. Clinton collected $200,000 to speak at the same event five years later, but she donated nothing back to the club, which raised less than half as much from Clinton’s appearance as from Rice’s, according to the sources and tax filings.

The Clintons have always been my least favorite politicians (as long as you exclude the morons that lost to Bush in 2000 and 2004 for being irrelevant).

True, that seems to be the straw man. It's either that or the idea that old people will be eating dog food.

I sincerely doubt anyone would ever suggest cutting social security in its entirety (I might be wrong though), but there are things that can be done to help alleviate a bit of the burden. One of the biggest proposals is to gradually increase the eligibility age from 65/66 to 70. Another is to reexamine the cost of living adjustment (COLA) to help hold things down, although SSA had its first 0% COLA just a year or two ago.

We could also look to clean the Social Security Disability roles, which are full of abusers.

Yeah, they were just here in Denver last week and I got invited to go to Hilary's little fundraising dinner thingy through a business contact of mine.

Pass...................no thank you.

SSDI abuse is incredibly rare. Fraud accounts for less than 1% of the program's outlay.

Yes, we should try and stop all abuse, but it is hardly going to make any sort of big difference in the budget.
